Will my insurance company cover water damage to my home or business?

This will obviously depend upon your insurance policy coverage.  You will want to review your policy and speak with your insurance company to ensure that you are covered for such an event.

Our technicians are experienced with the insurance claim process and we will work directly with your insurance company to help remove some of the stress from your life.  In our experience we have found the majority of insurance companies will cover water damage.  However, be sure to review your policy!

What can happen if I ignore water damage?

Water damage is not something to ignore because it can lead to serious secondary damage.  The biggest concern is with the risk of mold growth.  By not properly removing the moisture completely from an area you are at risk of a mold infestation.

Mold can lead to serious health risks if ignore and can destroy a structure in short order by spreading rapidly.  If you find you have a water damage issue be sure to speak with a specialist to completely resolve the issue.

What problems can mold growth cause?

Mold can cause a wide range of health related problems as well as destroy your property.  It can cause breathing issues, flu like symptoms and in certain cases possible death.  If you feel as though you have a mold problem it is critical to address it promptly with a mold remediation specialist.

What can I do to prevent water damage?

Most individuals do not take into consideration that water damage can occur to them until it is too late.  Fortunately if you do the proper amount of maintenance you can help limit the risks associated with water damage.

If you are on a septic system at your home or business doing a monthly inspection is a good idea.  The reason you want to do this is because if something is wrong you will be able to catch it in time to prevent a sewage backup.  Once this happens you are dealing with a toxic mess that will require the assistance of professionals.  It is also a good idea to know where the water shutoff valve is so it can be turned off in the event you have a problem.

Another area to keep an eye on is the walls of your home.  If you notice what appears to be water damage you could have a broken pipe that needs to be repaired.

Finally, do not ignore the hoses  that feed your washing machine with water.  These hoses are under constant pressure and should be replaced from time to time as they age.  If they were to leak it will cause a mess very quickly in your home.

What can I expect if I need water damage restoration services?

Once calling us for service our technicians can be at your location within an hour to start the restoration process.  We will first inspect the area to determine where the source of water is coming from.  In many cases the homeowner has already turned off the water, this is a good thing!  The quicker that you can stop the spread of water the less damage you will have.

We will then use our commercial water extraction equipment to remove all standing water from the area.  After we have completely removed all of the water we will then put in place our dehumidifiers and fans to completely dry the area 100%.  Once we have completely dried the area we will proceed to test the area to make sure all related issues have been resolved.  We want to make certain all of the moisture has been removed in order to prevent any mold growth.
